This is a vintage Topps issue. Topps sold its cards in wax packs, usually with a slab of gum, and cut them from large printed sheets, so centering and edges vary from copy to copy.

This page lists 4 cataloged cards from the 1957 Topps Football release: Emlen Tunnell, Bart Starr, Joe Perry and Johnny Unitas. 2 carry a rookie label. The full release has more cards than this partial checklist.

Centering, corner wear, stains and print marks are the first things to check on a card this old. Famous cards from the era have been reprinted, so compare the card stock, printing and size with a known original.

Keep the release identity intact.

Year, set name and format define this group. A parallel, insert, reprint, regional release or sticker can require a separate identity even when the player and number match. Review the entry notes and original source before treating a copy as a checklist match.
