Soccer stickers: preserve regional set names and seasons
Research Panini Foot, Calciatori, Football Belgium and Campeonato Brasileiro references with their exact format and release wording.

Record sticker format before comparison
A soccer research list should say whether each reference is a card or a sticker before comparing years and player names. Both formats appear in this catalog, and the format is part of the research question rather than a decorative label. Begin with player, release year or season, full set title, number and format. When the evidence only identifies an early issue, preserve that wording instead of upgrading it to an earliest-ever claim. Soccer collecting can involve several regional and tournament releases, so a small list of references cannot settle every first appearance. Use it to identify precise issues and choose the next research task.
Keep Foot ’92 and the cited season together
The Zidane reference uses Panini Foot ’92 #43 with the source’s 1991–92 season notation. Keep both in your note. A title containing a later year can coexist with a season that begins earlier; removing either detail makes future searches less precise. Treat the printed release title and the date notation as separate fields so that you can compare them directly with a primary source. If a candidate is advertised under a different date, inspect its full set identity and number before deciding whether it is the same issue. A calendar-year shortcut should not replace the evidence you originally consulted.
Henry provides a second season-title example
PSA’s soccer collecting article identifies Thierry Henry’s 1996–97 Panini Foot ’97 #195 as a rookie sticker. That is a source-supported label for this exact reference, not a general classification for every early Henry collectible. Use the example to practice copying the season, Foot ’97 title, number and format together. Keep any candidate’s reverse wording or language in an additional observation field. Our editorial method is to preserve the source transcription first and add your search aliases afterward. A shortened English title may be convenient, but it should not become the only label attached to the research record.
Regional titles should survive translation and shorthand
The other linked references include Maradona’s Panini Calciatori #312, Ronaldinho’s Panini Campeonato Brasileiro 99 #124 and De Bruyne’s Panini Football Belgium #153. Keep those distinguishing set words rather than reducing every entry to Panini sticker. PSA’s article explicitly describes the Ronaldinho and De Bruyne collectibles as stickers; those selected records carry no rookie label, so the catalog makes no unsupported rookie claim for them. If you translate a title for your own folder, preserve the original wording alongside it. This makes it possible to check a numbered candidate against the regional release instead of relying on player and manufacturer alone.
Keep condition and album context as observations
For a physical sticker candidate, request a readable front and reverse without asking the owner to peel, trim or otherwise change the object for the photograph. Note whether the images actually show the reverse, and leave backing or album-history questions unresolved when they do not. Those are our handling and recordkeeping suggestions, not an authentication test or a conservation treatment. A photograph of a similar loose sticker does not establish the condition of the candidate being offered. Keep observable details separate from the issue identity and avoid guessing how a mark, attachment or edge feature originated from a single image.
Use a regional research table rather than one broad rookie list
Build your notebook with columns for player, format, region or competition wording established by the release, complete season, set, number, status and source. Add a final column for the next question to resolve. You can then choose a theme such as a club-era sticker timeline or several explicitly documented early references without claiming a universal rookie hierarchy. Save exact catalog entries for revisiting, while keeping photographs and ownership details in your own record. The end of a useful session is a clearer set of labels and questions. More entries help only when their regional titles, seasons and formats remain intact.
